1986 yılında Elazığ/Harput mahallesinde, üç çocuklu bir ailenin en büyük çocuğu olarak dünyaya geldim. İlkokulu Dumlupınar İÖO, ortaokulu Elazığ AİHL, liseyi ise Elazığ, Balakgazi Lisesi’nde okudum. 

2004'te yerleştiğim Fırat Üniversitesi, Eğitim Fakültesi, Sosyal Bilgiler Öğretmenliği Bölümü’nden 2008'de mezun oldum. Aynı yıl Elazığ Final eğitim kurumlarında Coğrafya öğretmeni olarak göreve başladım. 2010 yılı itibariyle öğretmenliğin yanında Final Yayınları Coğrafya Departmanında yazarlık yapmaya; üniversiteye hazırlık kitapları, soru bankaları, deneme sınavları için sorular yazmaya başladım. Devamında haftalık olarak yayınlanan Final Üniversiteye hazırlık dergisinin Coğrafya bölümlerini hazırlamaya başladım. Dershanecilik kariyerimi 2013 yılı sonunda noktaladım.

2010 yılının bahar döneminde Fırat Üniversitesi, Sosyal Bilimler Enstitüsü, Coğrafya Anabilim Dalı yüksek lisans programına kaydoldum. 2013 yılı güz döneminde Prof. Dr. M. Taner Şengün danışmanlığında hazırladığım "Çöl Tozlarının Elazığ, Diyarbakır, Adıyaman ve Şanlıurfa İllerinde İnsan ve Bitki Üzerindeki Etkileri" başlıklı tezimle yüksek lisans eğitimini tamamladım.  

2013 yılının ekim ayında Ondokuz Mayıs Üniversitesi, Sosyal Bilimler Enstitüsünde Araştırma Görevlisi olarak atandım. Aynı kurumda, Coğrafya ABD'da doktora programına kayıt oldum. Prof. Dr. Kemalettin ŞAHİN danışmanlığında "Yeşilırmak Deltasında (Çarşamba/Samsun) Doğal Ortam İnsan İlişkileri ve Doğal Çevre Planlaması" başlıklı tezimle 2017 yılı sonunda doktor ünvanını aldım.

2018 yılında OMÜ, İnsan ve Toplum Bilimleri Fakültesi, Coğrafya Bölümüne Doktor Öğretim Üyesi olarak atandım. 2023'te Fiziki Coğrafya Alanında Doçent ünvanı aldım. 2024 yılı sonunda ise aynı anabilim dalında Doçent  kadrosuna yükseldim.  2018 yılı mayıs ayından bu yana Coğrafya Bölümü, Bölüm Başkan Yardımcılığı ve Türkiye Coğrafyası ABD başkanlığı görevlerini yürütmekteyim. Bunun yanı sıra fakülte ve rektörlük bünyesinde oluşturulmuş pek çok kurul ve komisyonda başkanlık, üyelik gibi görevlerim oldu. 

Temel çalışma alanlarım; Doğa-insan ilişkileri, Afetler ve Afet Yönetimi, Klimatoloji,  CBS ve Jeomorfoloji kapsamındadır.

I was born in 1986 in the Harput district of Elazığ as the eldest of three children. I completed my primary education at Dumlupınar Elementary School, my secondary education at Elazığ Anatolian Imam Hatip High School, and my high school education at Balakgazi High School in Elazığ.

In 2004, I was admitted to the Department of Social Studies Teaching at the Faculty of Education, Fırat University, from which I graduated in 2008. In the same year, I began my professional career as a Geography teacher at Elazığ Final Educational Institutions. Starting in 2010, alongside my teaching duties, I contributed to the Geography Department of Final Publications by preparing university entrance preparation materials, including textbooks, question banks, and mock exams. I also wrote the Geography sections of the weekly Final University Preparation Magazine. I concluded my career in private teaching institutions at the end of 2013.

In the spring semester of 2010, I enrolled in the Master’s program at the Department of Geography, Institute of Social Sciences, Fırat University. In the fall semester of 2013, I completed my M.A. degree with the thesis entitled “The Effects of Desert Dusts on Humans and Plants in the Provinces of Elazığ, Diyarbakır, Adıyaman, and Şanlıurfa”, under the supervision of Prof. Dr. M. Taner Şengün.

In October 2013, I was appointed as a Research Assistant at Ondokuz Mayıs University, Institute of Social Sciences. At the same institution, I enrolled in the doctoral program in the Department of Geography. Under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Kemalettin Şahin, I completed my Ph.D. in 2017 with the dissertation entitled “Human–Environment Interactions and Natural Environment Planning in the Yeşilırmak Delta (Çarşamba/Samsun)”.

In 2018, I was appointed as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Geography, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Ondokuz Mayıs University. In 2023, I received the title of Associate Professor in the field of Physical Geography, and at the end of 2024, I was promoted to an Associate Professorship position in the same department. Since May 2018, I have been serving as the Vice-Chair of the Department of Geography and the Chair of the Division of Turkish Geography. Additionally, I have undertaken various administrative duties, including chairmanships and memberships in numerous committees and commissions at both the faculty and rectorate levels.

My primary research interests include human–environment interactions, natural hazards and disaster management, climatology, geographic information systems (GIS), and geomorphology.
